3/11 -Last Day for Poetry Contracts

Daily Warm Up: We’ll start with a read-aloud warm up from Elizabeth Gilbert’s book, Big Magic.

Focus: The right of first say. Today I’ll talk about “first say,” which is your RIGHT as a writer. It’s your chance to tell me what you’re thinking about in your work and what you’re trying to do. It’s your chance to ask questions about what you’ve accomplished. It’s your chance for “conversational” type feedback.

In this class, I ask that you use the COMMENT function in Google Docs for your first say comments. I’ll show you how to do this (example below), and then you’ll have the rest of class as studio time.
